In different guises, I have been guiding and leading throughout the Lake District and Cumbria for most of my adult life - be it as a farmer, engineer, cyclist, fell-walker, photographer and local historian. I take great pleasure in marshaling all of this knowledge, expertise and proficiency to enrich your very own visitor experiences.

Lakeland born and farm raised in the beautiful Ullswater Valley, my passion is seeking out new  experiences and anecdotes that celebrate the changing landscape, changing  seasons, changing elements. I love venturing into peaceful valleys, or the prettiest towns, built from the craggy stone - the very mountains child. Absorbing a dramatic history, the romantic literature, our agricultural and industrial heritage - the very spirit of how the landscape shaped Lakeland people and how the people shaped the Lakeland landscape...

Our Natural world and landscape too will be given a voice - from the bark of red deer 'rutting' on craggy fellsides, to the silent leap of red squirrels bounding through temperate forests.  The breeze, competing with birds - whistling through trees, percolating with the chuckle of a mountain stream.

"Gordon was terrific! His knowledge of the Lake District, where he grew up and lives, is extensive.....

...I highly recommend Gordon to anyone wishing to explore and better understand the beautiful Lake District of England."
